Company Overview

Nu Nennè-AXYS Inc., a limited liability partnership between the Cold Lake First Nations and Jacques Whitford AXYS Ltd. and provides environmental services to industry and related clients operating within the traditional lands of the Cold Lake First Nations.

Nu Nennè-AXYS Inc. was established in 2003 in response to the oil and gas industry’s request to increase First Nations participation in their projects and to work with Cold Lake First Nations to develop capacity in the area of environmental and traditional knowledge assessments.

Nu Nennè-AXYS Inc. is majority owned by Cold Lake First Nations who have chosen the term Nu Nennè, meaning “our Land”, to represent the community in the corporate name. As traditional stewards of the environment and their cultural history, the members of Cold Lake First Nations maintain a strong interest in, and concern with their traditional land and associated development projects.

The combination of traditional knowledge of Cold Lake First Nations and the environmental expertise of Jacques Whitford AXYS Ltd. companies; FMA Heritage Resources Consultants Inc., Westworth Associates Environmental Ltd., C.E. Jones and Associates resulted in the creation of our environmental services company, Nu Nennè-AXYS Inc.
