Cold Lake First Nations
Cold Lake First Nations’ response to the oil and gas industry’s request to increase First Nations participation in their projects resulted in the partnership with Nu Nennè-Stantec Inc. and was intended to increase local capacity in the area of environmental and traditional knowledge assessments.
The members of Cold Lake First Nations are committed to the preservation and protection of their traditional lands. The goal of the Cold Lake First Nations is to leave a legacy of an environmentally sound and sustainable natural environment for future generations, in keeping with their treaty rights. Cold Lake First Nations’ relationship with the land is sacred, and includes the water, the air, the wildlife and all of the resources. As the stewards of nature, it is Cold Lake First Nations’ responsibility to promote conscientious and respectful use of the environment.
Cold Lake First Nations facilitates sustainable operations for industry through their working partnership with Nu Nennè-Stantec Inc. and their involvement and input relative to proposed developments on their traditional lands. As active participants in assessments they support Nu Nennè-Stantec Inc. by providing to project teams:
